A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow VoC bloggers Kanika & Joselle, & VoC reader Winston, here in NYC at Strictly Roots.
Click to enlarge the photo. From left to right: Kanika, Winston, Joselle, & me. The height order thing was accidental, really! Check out the mural behind us, which explains Strictly Roots’ vegan philosophy.
Thanks everyone — it was awesome to meet you all (& Joselle’s partner Brian, not pictured). Here’s to more VoC in-person community building in the future!
(& on that note, any vegans of color living in or near Bristol, England, please get in touch, as I am moving there in a couple of weeks!)

Cute pic!
I want in next time!
Hey, this has inspired me to do a Vegans of Color meetup for the East Bay of California! Anyone in this area?
Breeze
looked like fun.
Hey VoC bloggers and readers. I wanted to share with you a blog I just wrote on racism and school foods. It deals with the high numbers in minority groups that are lactose intolerant and the fact that two servings of milk are mandatory in schools – ignoring the high numbers of students that can’t digest it properly.
Check it out. I’d love your take:

Johanna,
Ha. VoCs in descending order of height!
Thanks for posting the pic. It was so much fun to meet you, Win and Kanika.
Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been out of the loop, have been battling a nasty respiratory virus the last few days
It was awesome meeting all of you guys! We have to do it again someday! I’d travel all over the globe to attend every VOC meetup if I could
WOW!!! That’s great! Please check out myspace.com/veggiesofvibrantcolor – we’ve been trying to accomplish a successful get together too!
