Vegan Protein Shake/Smoothie Recipes? April 9, 2009

It’s Breeze Vegan Protein Green Monster Shake:

40 oz of water in a blender add: 1/4 cup of Hemp Nutiva Protein powder, 3 to 4 heaping tbsp of Jarrow Brown Rice Protein powder (or Nutribiotic Rice Protein Powder), 1/8 to 1/4 c of flaxseed oil, 1.5 tbsp of spirulina, 1 tbsp of alfalfa chlorophyll (brand: World Organic), 1 banana, 1 avocado.

Blend and enjoy. I usually drink half of the shake, then wait the next half hour to finish it. This shake has about 45-50 g of protein.

Anyone got any recipes they want to share?

Hugs,
Breezie

    • My favorite green smoothie I created is:

5 leaves of kale (or 3 big collard green leaves), 1bsp of spirulina, 1 kiwi, 1 avocado, 2 tbsp of flaxseed oil, 1/4 tsp of ginger root powder (essential for those who can’t digest raw cruciferous veggies). Throw into blender and fill the rest of the blender with water. Blend for about 3 minutes for a creamy texture. I swear by these and have had them everyday, for the most part.

Not a protein shake, but what keeps me up during the day time is a plain freshly pressed lemon with mineral water. My absolute fav for giving me energy.
